Floral Bow Invitations

I designed the invitations using Canva, incorporating blue hydrangeas and pink bows to match the party décor perfectly. These can be sent as digital invites or printed directly from Canva for a charming paper version (my personal favorite).

Elegant Coquette Party Tablescape

We kept the tablescape mostly white, with pink and blue accents for a delicate and timeless look. Vintage milk glass took center stage, featuring vases, goblets, a cake stand, and candle holders. For dessert plates, I used my Westmoreland “Forget Me Not” milk glass plates, weaving pink satin ribbon through the edges and tying a bow at the bottom for a soft, romantic touch.

The dinner plates and coupe glasses were vintage Fenton Hobnail glass, which I absolutely adore! To add feminine charm, we hung little blue bows onto the glasses and placed lace doily placemats underneath the plates to tie the entire look together.

Each place setting featured a white linen napkin, folded into a rose and placed in the center of the plate, paired with vintage silver-plated cutlery for an extra touch of elegance. I made the place cards by trimming the edges with decorative scissors and attaching a pink satin bow at the top with hot glue.

The table itself was layered with an inexpensive light blue tablecloth, topped with a vintage sheer lace overlay. White lace doilies were used throughout to anchor the floral centerpieces, adding dimension and texture to the setup.

Feminine Flowers

The flower arrangements, crafted by my talented mother, featured light blue hydrangeas, white roses, white carnations, and white mums in the larger centerpieces. For the smaller arrangements, she used baby’s breath and pink carnations for a dainty, romantic feel.

All the flowers were arranged in vintage milk glass vessels—most of them footed compote dishes and candy bowls. Milk glass pieces are surprisingly easy to find at thrift stores and garage sales for very reasonable prices, making this an affordable yet elegant choice.

Coquette Accent Décor

Since the party was in December, we added subtle wintery touches, such as the hanging “snowballs” from the ceiling. These were suspended with fishing line to create a floating effect and adorned with tiny blue satin bows for a whimsical finish.

For the accent wall behind the food table, we created a backdrop of bows using pale pink and blue tulle. Each bow was hand-tied and secured to the wall with push pins, creating a soft, whimsical backdrop that added color without overpowering the space.

Pink Food Ideas

To stay on theme, we curated a menu of dainty pink treats guaranteed to delight. The spread included:

A Cream Puff Tower (Croquembouche): Each puff was dipped in pink chocolate and flowers were tucked in between and on top.

Tips for Planning Your Own Coquette Party

  • Start early with vintage glassware: If you love the look of vintage pieces but don’t have a collection, begin your hunt early! Check thrift shops, antique stores, garage sales, or even eBay for beautiful options.
  • Incorporate lace and doilies: These timeless details add softness and layers to your décor while anchoring key elements like centerpieces.
  • Set the mood with soft lighting: Use natural daylight for daytime events and dimmed lights or candles for evening gatherings to create a cozy, romantic ambiance.
  • Bows, bows, and more bows: This quintessential feminine detail is a must! Tie satin or velvet bows onto glassware, utensils, or even chairs for a playful yet polished look.
  • Mirror and Perfume Bottles: Decorate side tables or dessert stations with vintage mirrors and antique-style perfume bottles. These small details add a whimsical, vintage charm.
  • String Lights and Fairy Lights: Add a magical glow by draping string lights or placing fairy lights inside translucent jars or around table edges. This works beautifully for evening events.
  • Handwritten Notes Station: Provide stationery and calligraphy pens for guests to write sweet notes or advice for the guest of honor if it’s a bridal or baby shower.
