Enchanted Garden Elixir: A Purple Fairy Drink

A light and floral purple fairy drink made with white grape juice, lavender, elderflower, and butterfly pea flower tea. Serve as a mocktail or add gin for an elegant cocktail.

Equipment

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Strainer
  • Measuring Jigger
  • Cheesecloth

Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz. White Grape Juice
  • 1 oz. Butterfly Pea Flower Mixture See note #1
  • 1 oz. Elderflower Cordial
  • 1 oz. Lavender Simple Syrup See note #2
  • 2-3 dashes Rose Water
  • Dried Rose Petals (optional garnish)
  • 2 oz. Dry Gin (optional, cut Grape Juice in half if using this)

Instructions
 

  • Pre-chill your glass
  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  • Add all ingredients to the shaker and shake vigorously until the shaker forms a frost (about 30 seconds).
  • Strain into glass and add rose water and dried rose petals for garnish if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

 
  1. To make the Butterfly Pea flower mixture, add 2 tsp of powder to 1 cup of warm water and mix well. This will make enough for a large batch of drinks. Filter through cheesecloth to remove particles before using in the this recipe.
  2. To make your own lavender simple syrup: add 1 cup sugar and 3 Tbsp of dried culinary lavender to 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil an let simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat, cover and let sit for 20 minutes. Strain into a bottle or jar.
