Preheat your oven to 375°F.
Place the wheel of brie in a small baking dish or on a heat-safe serving dish. Lightly score the top of the rind with a sharp knife.
Core the pear, then chop it into small pieces.
Add the chopped pear to a bowl with the maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pecan halves. Stir until the pears and pecans are evenly coated.
1 tbsp Pure Maple Syrup, 1/2 tsp Cinnamon, 1/2 tsp Nutmeg, 1/2 c Pecan halves
Spoon the pear mixture over the top of the brie, piling it into a generous mound.
Bake the brie for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese is softened and gooey beneath the pear and pecan topping.
Carefully transfer the baked brie to a serving platter and serve immediately while the cheese is warm and soft.
Notes
- Feel free to drizzle maple syrup, honey or hot honey on top after baking.
- Use a firm, ripe pear. Very soft pears can become overly mushy during baking.
- Don't overbake the brie. Fifteen minutes is usually enough to warm and soften the cheese without turning it into a puddle.
- If you want to use a 16 oz. Brie wheel, just double the toppings.
